Our Location

It would be hard to think of a better location for serviced accomodation in Goole.

The Old Siding is located within a quiet residential area a short walk away from large number of shops, restaurants, pubs, parks, gyms, a cinema, and leisure centre.

It is 1 minute away from Goole railway station and 5 minutes from junction 36 of the M62.

Hull, Selby, York, Doncaster and Leeds are all close by.

Goole is superbly located with excellent road, rail and river connections.

Lying on the River Ouse in East Yorkshire, it is the UK’s furthest inland port with soon-to-be freeport trading status, a railway station and junction 36 of the M62 .

With direct motorway access to Hull (29 miles west), Doncaster (16 miles south west) and Leeds (35 miles east), it’s no surprise that companies such as Siemens and Drax are choosing to invest in the area.

It’s also only 23 miles south of historic York with its famous city walls, minster and shambles and less than an hour from the east coast beaches of Bridlington and Hornsea.

For those who prefer not to travel, Goole boasts a large range of shopping and leisure options.

A Tesco Superstore with vehicle charging points is 1 minute away from The Old Sidings while Argos, Newlook and Boots are 2 minutes away in Wesley Square and Sports Direct is 4 minutes away.

There are also many small independents, particularly on nearby Boothferry and Pasture Roads.

For those who don’t wish to cook themselves, there are a large number of bars, pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance.

Mr NessUno Italian Restaurant is particularly popular.  During the warmer months outdoor seating outside some of the eating establishments on the Boothferry Road pedestrianised shopping precinct gives the town a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.

For food on the run there is Greggs, Subway, a number of tempting family butchers and bakers, one of which is less than a minute’s walk from The Old Sidings, together with fish and chip, Chinese and Pizza takeaways.

The Old Sidings is well placed for leisure facilities on its doorstep.

The Junction Arts Venue including cinema is less than a 2 minute drive away and Goole Leisure Centre with its large gym, swimming pool, tennis court and daily exercise classes such as Grit Cardio, body balance, kettlebells and Zumba is a warm-up jog away.

For extra choice, there are independent gyms Rock Fitness and Elite Fitness

Less than a mile away, well-maintained West Park is perfect for outdoor exercise whether it is a gentle stroll along its many paths or a longer run, perhaps as part of the weekly 5km Park Run held there.

A popular venue for amateur football and basketball, it also hosts orienteering and even archery events.

Alternatively, there are beautiful river bank walks just a few minutes walk from the Old Sidings or – for the more adventurous –  Oakhill Nature Reserve’s 150 acres of ponds and woods which is big enough to get lost in.
