Goole’s Drax Power Station to capture Carbon

In more excellent green news for Goole, the government has given the go ahead for East Coast Cluster to be one of the first industrial carbon-capture clusters in the UK.

The Old Sidings strongly believes in sustainable energy usage, and is thrilled by the part Drax Power Station will play in decarbonisation.  The £2bn BioEnergy with Carbon Capture Storage (BECCS) project will create thousands of jobs, bring prosperity and more contractors into Goole and Selby, and by 2027 will  remove atleast eight million tonnes of CO2 from the atmosphere each year.

Our congratulations go to Will Gardiner, CEO of Drax who has been leading the ground-breaking initiative.
